DAILY TAPS will be playing at the National WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C. in honor ofArizona’s American Legion Post #42, named after WWI Veteran John Ivens starting on Sunday 08/28 through Saturday 09/2.

Every evening at 5pm, a bugler dressed in a WWI period uniform plays “Taps” at the National WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C.

This solemn nightly tribute is in honor of the Americans who served in WWI and the service of all U.S. veterans and active military personnel. It is sounded daily in this public gathering place for reflection on “the war that changed the world.”

In June 2022, they began to LiveStream Daily Taps at the WWI Memorial. As a part of this, they are honoring specific veterans and organizations including WWI veteran namesake posts they have their database.

Outreach to the posts being honored is now integrated into the program. Here are the specifics:

Arizona’s American Legion Post #42, named after WWI Veteran John Ivens will be honored at 17:00 each day starting on Sunday 08/28 through Saturday 09/2.

The playing of taps will be live streamed on the Doughboy Foundation’s YouTube channel at: YouTube.com/c/TheDoughboyFoundation each day at 17:00 Eastern.

The stream starts around 16:55 ET and goes to 17:03. After it has streamed live, the daily video is available for watching on Youtube anytime going forward.
